Who is Tom Polchowski and What Does He Do?I've enjoyed working with computers since I was young -- around five years old. The first game I played was a text adventure called "Castle", and the first program I wrote was an infinite counting routine in GW-BASIC.Both games and software development have come a long way. I currently lead the development of enterprise software in high-level languages such as Java and Microsoft .NET. I have experience in both commercial and government sectors, and previously worked hands-on with software development on a daily basis, prior to migrating into a management role. |

Focus on Government ConsultingAfter living in Connecticut for my entire life, I decided to continue my career in the nation's capital, Washington D.C. I completed my transition in late 2004, and began working for an excellent computer consulting company that supports the D.C. area.In addition to the fantastic economy, I fell in love with the culture, the diversity, and the pace of the Washington Area. |

There's More to Tom than SoftwareIt's true... I try my best to sneak away from the computer.I'm a big fan of the outdoors, whether it be biking, hiking, camping, or playing a game of basketball. In fact, the outdoors are probably what I miss most about Connecticut. I also watch a lot of movies, and I'm typically involved in a book. I also enjoy keeping up with current events and politics. Most of all, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, especially while engaged in a philosophical discussion at the local coffee house. I have a deep interest in psychology and new ways of thinking, and I love conversation and hearing about new perspectives. |
