Team Leadership and Business Development Initiatives
Led the 34 member software engineering delivery team for the Department of Defense's Anti-Drug Network program, consisting of engineers, business analysts, data architects, and enterprise architects. Worked daily with fellow leadership team members and the client’s chief engineer to manage the successful execution of $3.5M in yearly external software projects, plus a $1.5M annual software engineering and operational core budget. Managed all software engineering team members, including the allocation of resources across projects, meeting rapidly changing client priorities.
Served as a "Front Line Leader" on a Booz Allen “home team” focused primarily on law enforcement and counter-narcotics markets, managing eleven Consultants, Senior Consultants, and Associates. Developed organizational roadmaps, defined organizational roles and responsibilities, and co-organized mentorship and career development practices with two other home team leaders.
Co-authored technical aspects of four proposals in the law enforcement and counter-narcotics markets. Led the design and implementation of a $950k data warehousing solution that accounted for future dataflows to multiple security classifications. Managed a staff of 15 data architects, technologists, and security engineers, and coordinated the approval and procurement process for $250k of software and hardware. Communicated across multiple data-sharing stakeholders to design a flexible and scalable architecture, and developed a four-year roadmap for future phases of the initiative.
Managed initiatives within Booz Allen Hamilton's Open Source Community of Practice, including the evaluation of open source alternatives to commercial software, the creation of prototypes, and the generation of intellectual capital such as white papers. Developed an intranet presence for the Open Source Community of Practice, and designed the information architecture to harvest and share intellectual capital, contributing to Booz Allen Hamilton's knowledge management initiative. Designed and presented architecture recommendations while leading the technical analysis of alternatives for an FBI system. Provided technical guidance to five technologists and business analysts while leading commercial and FBI-developed product evaluations, and presented recommendations to a diverse FBI audience.
Served as the portal subject matter expert on an integrated team to gather requirements and develop a tactical portal implementation plan for the FBI. Worked with technology vendors to understand capabilities, determine integration possibilities, and recommend commercial software packages and a development strategy.
